About the Director

bullet Joe Rothgeb is the owner and program director of Southwest Missouri Allied Health Education. His experience includes being the former program director for the School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Baptist Memorial College of Health Sciences where he was one of ten educational founders for the college. His accomplishments while at BMHCS include obtaining programmatic accreditation by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.  While at BMHCS he served on the college development and steering committee. He has also worked and taught at The Johns Hopkins Hospital Sonography department in Baltimore and served as Chief Sonographer at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Joe is listed as a co-author in the 2nd and 3rd edition of Clinical Sonography and the 1989 edition of the SDMS Abdomen Guidelines for Student Review. He has been active in several professional organizations such as the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography where he served as a site visitor for 6 years and has been a state representative and served on the Career Development Committee for the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. He is a Past President of the Alumni Board of Directors for the Baptist Memorial College of Health Sciences.

Registered Radiologic Technologist in radiography and MRI, M.Ed. from University of South Carolina.

Mrs. Entrekin is a graduate of the Medical College of South Carolina and has been teaching since 1988 in medical imaging. Her Master's Degree focused on teaching adults and distance education techniques. Mrs. Entrekin developed the first online MRI program in 1997 for a technical college in the South Carolina and still teaches as part-time faculty in that program. She came to SMAHE as a consultant in 1997 to assist in taking the classroom sonography program to an online program. When that task was completed she began developing the MRI Program and it came online in late 2002. Her teaching experiences are in a variety of settings including technical colleges, hospital based programs, training seminars and online instruction.
